Turf & Landscape Irrigation
Irrigation

You have made an investment in your landscape for the enjoyment, beauty, and value of your home or business. Installing an irrigation system is the final step in caring for your landscape whether you are at home or away. At Turf and Landscape Inc., our skilled Irrigation Technicians are continuously educated in the latest and most efficient irrigation products. We provide service after your irrigation has been installed to ensure that your system performs effectively.

System Design

Installing an irrigation system is an important part of having a beautiful landscape and will help your yard look green and lush. Each irrigation system is designed to meet the specific needs of your landscape. Turf, flowers, trees and shrubs all have different water needs. We set up your system in “zones” so that each plant group gets the right amount of water as they grow, making the most efficient use of your water.

All of our irrigation systems are installed using the latest technology for efficient use and easy control. All systems come complete with an Irrigation Clock that allows you to set the time, frequency and duration of each application of water to the zones in your landscape.

There are several different irrigation clocks available that offer different services.

Toro® TMC-212 Series

Series Overview

The TMC-212 has an array of features with advanced, modular construction. Options such as indoor and outdoor models and a station count of two to twelve make it a fit for a variety of residential applications. It is simple to program and install, and its solid-state technology will stand the test of time.

Features

  • Three fully independent programs with four start times per program

  • Station count modularity from 2 to 12 stations in two-station modules

  • Hot-swappable station modules

  • Non-volatile memory requires no batteries

  • Module options available for standard- or high-surge protection

  • Three-year warranty on standard model, five-year warranty on high-surge model

Rain Sensor

In addition to the Toro TMC 212 Clock, Toro also manufactures a rain sensor. Running an irrigation system while it is raining just does not make sense. Turf & Landscape Inc. offers a Rain Sensor, which is a device that overrides your system not to run when rain is falling, thereby cutting down on unnecessary irrigation.

Rain Bird® ESP-SMT Smart Irrigation Control System
Proving that extra smart can also be extra simple.

Combining the proven simplicity of the Extra Simple Programming (ESP) controller family with the accuracy of weather-based control, this innovative system is engineered to save valuable time, money and water.

The ease and speed with which you can program this controller is remarkable. Simply input a few key specifics, such as your zip code, allowed watering days and the plant/soil type for each zone; the ESP-SMT does the rest. Your installation time is cut dramatically. Your irrigation system waters only when the landscape requires it. And you save 30-70% in water.

The proven accuracy of weather-based scheduling

Rain Bird pioneered weather-based control systems for golf courses over 25 years ago. Drawing on the industry-leading precision of these larger, more sophisticated systems, the ESP-SMT makes Rain Bird weather-based control simple and affordable for homeowners like you. By self-adjusting to the landscape’s changing water needs, it eliminates the programming errors and guesswork of a time-based system.

Instant rainfall shut-off and useable measurement

A Smart Controller should be smart enough to account for rainfall, right? Not always. In fact, most Smart Controllers simply suspend irrigation when it rains, without accurately measuring rainfall. By comparison, the ESP-SMT not only suspends irrigation, it measures instantaneous rainfall amounts, determines the effective rainfall and calculates exactly how much to adjust your watering schedule to prevent over-watering and under-watering.

Zone-specific water calculations

Different plants have different watering requirements. That’s why the ESP-SMT customizes each zone’s irrigation schedule. It factors in location, soil type, landscape slope, plant type/density, sun exposure, sprinkler type and root-depth requirements. Based on this zone-specific data, the ESP-SMT controller optimizes the irrigation schedule to promote lush, healthy plant material in each part of your yard, while substantially reducing water waste and runoff.

System Maintenance

We also offer Irrigation Start Up service in the Spring and Blow-outs in the Fall.

  • Backflow

We have a Certified Backflow Technician on staff who can perform a Backflow test. Backflow is the undesirable reversal of flow of nonpotable water or other substances through a cross-connection and into the public water system. A backflow system is designed to protect the potable water from contamination, which could occur if the pressure exceeds potable water pressure over a cross-connection where one (or more) of the check valves fail. If you have a residential or commercial irrigation system, you are required by State and Federal law to perform a backflow test each year. The test prepares your irrigation system and make sure it is functioning properly in the Spring prior to system start up.

  • Blow-Out

We also offer Irrigation Blow-Outs in the fall. Blowing out your irrigation system minimizes the risk of freeze damage to the system. This preventative step can save you from costly repair bills for your irrigation system.
